Python

Whitespace is significant.

Use indents instead of { curly braces }

Things are imported with ‘import’ to print to stdout use print("message)

Lines don’t end with semicolons to declare a variable just assign it to create a function

def function():
    r = doSomething()
    return r

to use a global scope item

def function():
    global x
    r = doSomething(x)
    return r

To check for an unset variable

def function(thing):
    if thing is None:
        return doSomething()
    else:
        return thing

To force something to be an integer: something = int(something)

try...catch

try:
    doSomething()
except Exception as e:
    print(e)
finally:
    print("done");

Create an empty array

list = []

Output an array as JSON data

import json

list = []
print(json.dumps(list))

Flask

What do I know about Flask? It uses Python. Specifically, I’ve used it with Python 2.7.
